A fellow HFPA member who speaks your industry's language
Smartweb Inc. has spent over 30 years keeping technology running for home textiles and home furnishings companies — manufacturers, mills, importers and suppliers. We're an HFPA member ourselves. And we'd like to be useful to the rest of the membership, starting with something free.
A free 30-minute IT & cybersecurity review — no cost, no obligation, no pitch
We'll sit down with you, in person or on a call, and go through the technology your business actually depends on: your ERP and EDI setup, your design and CAD environment, your showroom and warehouse systems, your network, your backups and your exposure to ransomware. At the end you get a written summary of what we found — what's solid, what's a risk, and what we'd fix first. You keep it either way. If you want our help afterwards, good. If you don't, you've still got a clearer picture of your own environment than you had before.
A real conversation
30 minutes with a senior engineer, not a sales rep working from a script.
A written summary
Findings you can hand to your CFO or your board, in plain language.
Ranked by risk
What to fix this month, this quarter, and what can wait.
No obligation
No contract, no follow-up sequence you have to unsubscribe from.
We didn't pick this industry from a list
Smartweb has worked inside home textiles and home furnishings for years — bedding, bath, window treatments, floor coverings. Manufacturers, mills, importers and suppliers, including work with companies like Divatex Home Fashions and Himatsingka. We know what an EDI chargeback costs, why a design server failing in February is a different kind of emergency than one failing in July, and what happens when the displays in a styled room setting go dark the morning a buyer walks the showroom.
That's not something an IT firm picks up from a case study. It comes from being in the building when it goes wrong.
It's also why we joined HFPA. Most IT companies look at home furnishings and see a low-tech industry. It hasn't been low-tech for a long time — a single retail program now runs through EDI feeds, design CAD, ERP, warehouse systems, B2B portals and showroom technology, and every one of those links has to hold.
What we actually look at
Six areas, thirty minutes. We go where your risk is, not through a generic questionnaire.
ERP & EDI
The systems your retail programs run through. Failed transmissions, missing acknowledgements, chargebacks that arrive six weeks after the fact.

Talk to an expert“I've been an HFPA member for a few years and, honestly, not as involved as I should have been. I'm changing that. I'll be at the Home Fashions Excellence Awards on 16 September, and I'd rather spend this year being useful to the membership than quietly renewing.
If you take us up on the free review, you'll be talking to me or someone I've worked with for years. Not a call centre.”

The free review — FAQ
Is this really free?
Yes. Thirty minutes, a written summary, no charge and no obligation. We're doing it because we're members of the same association and it's a straightforward way to be useful.
Does HFPA endorse Smartweb?
No. HFPA doesn't endorse individual member companies, and shouldn't. This offer comes from us as a fellow member, independently.
Do I have to be an HFPA member?
The offer is aimed at fellow members, but if you're in home textiles or home furnishings and you found your way here, we'll take the meeting.
What if I already have an IT provider?
That's common, and it doesn't make this a waste of time. A second opinion on your backups, your EDI monitoring and your ransomware exposure costs you thirty minutes. Plenty of reviews end with "your provider has this covered" — that's a useful answer too.
Are you only in New York?
On-site work is across NYC and Long Island. Remote support and vCIO work we do nationwide. The review itself can be a call.
What happens to my information?
It goes to Smartweb and nowhere else. No list, no resale. See our privacy policy.
Thirty minutes. A clear picture of what you're running on.
From one HFPA member to another.
